Entourage Season 4 Episode 2

I really expected to be gripped by this episode, but I wasn’t. I can see how this episode is building the story, but not much happened that made me anxious to see the next piece. Vince once again renewed his dedication to the business and E seems to be distancing himself from the Entourage more and more.

Drama was acting like a baby the whole episode and I hope to see that story line end, or at least change a bit. And what is the deal with Turtle getting the chick? I mean that’s awesome, but he didn’t even have to work that hard or drop Vince’s name. That is pretty out of character.

I still see the conflict of interest brewing with E working on his other clients and Vince going direct to Ari with career talk, but how will it pan out? Any predictions from anyone?

Entourage Season 5 Opener

I have always liked how there is a gap between seasons of Entourage. It’s like even though we haven’t been able to watch them, their lives have continued to go on. They haven’t been stuck in some time warp for 6 (or 12 if you include the writers strike) months, like other shows. This season of Entourage starts off no different from others. Six months have passed since we last saw Vince and his posse and a lot has happened.

Click on to read more, but beware there will be spoilers.

First Two Episodes of Californication Season 2 Leaked

Well hot on the tails of the Dexter leak, the first two episodes of Californication have also been leaked. I think its pretty obvious that we have an intentional leak here. Showtime would be stupid not to, these shows are awesome and its going to do nothing but drive more subscribers.

Season one ended with a freeze frame of a happy family, but how long will it last? My guess is not even through the first episode. But don’t take my word for it. Watch this sneak peak at Californication season 2.

Oh, also you can find the first two episodes in all of the normal BitTorrent places.

You can find it through the normal BitTorrent channels.

Dexter Season 3 - September 28th

Oh shit yeah. Finally TV land is starting to catch up after the writers strike. Man, that strike was the worst timing ever. Or maybe best timing, for them. Right after I got hooked on three shows (Entourage, Dexter, Californication) the strike started. So like millions of others I have been waiting months for these shows to finally start up again. Well the wait is over. Dexter season 3 starts September 28th and they have released some promos on the Showtime website (and YouTube). If you haven’t seen Dexter yet you really need to get Dexter - The First Season and watch it. I guarantee you’ll love it. If you don’t, I hate you.

Dexter Season 1 DVD Released August 31st

Dexter on ShowtimeWhen I was browsing horror movies on Amazon.com yesterday I came across this Showtime series called Dexter (Dexter - The First Season). I only read a few lines from it, but basically what I got was it was a series along the same lines as American Psycho. A guy living in society who just isn’t the same as everyone else. He fits in, but it’s all a fake — he is actually a serial killer. So on a whim I decided to download the first episode to see what it was all about before I bought the first season (to be released August 31st).

WOW. This is an awesome show. I’m all about it. Dexter Morgan is actually a forensic detective for the Miami PD specializing in blood splatter analysis. The show takes the same narrative format as American Psycho, but it is a little less… psycho. I feel like I can relate to Dexter in some things he says, I cant relate to Patrick Bateman at all. Dexter just seems more human.

So here is a quick rundown: Dexter is your every day forensic scientist who just happens to [secretly] pick up cold homicide cases in his spare time. He tracks down the lead suspect, confirms their guilt, and then murders them in his own serial killer fashion. He likes to keep a glass slide with a blood sample of all of his victims. Along side all of this we get to see how Dexter interacts in his personal life with his foster sister, his personal life with his girlfriend, and his professional life with his coworkers. There are a few flashbacks to show how he came to be the person that he is. Well actually, we learn that he has always been this way, but we find out his father had a huge role in his development.

Needless to say I’m super excited about this show. The DVD box set of season one comes out August 31st, so I am going to put my preorder in at amazon.com a week or so before it is released. I’m happy to see that Showtime will be airing season two starting on September 30th, but I’m not sure how I will watch it. Showtime offers their shows on a bunch of different download services, but I dont know if I would want to obtain the whole series that way. I see Movie Central is airing it, but then I would have to order movie central, and they might have a later start date.

Dexter Morgan:
People fake a lot of human interactions, but I feel like I fake them all, and I fake them very well, that’s my burden, I guess.

Sopranos Spinoff?

Ok, so I was just doing a quick Google to find The Sopranos creator’s name (David Chase) and I came across this short bit of an article from New York magazine.

The Young Tony Soprano Chronicles? Janice Loves Bobby? Sopranos creator David Chase says he’s thought about a spinoff of his soon-to-depart hit—but don’t hold your breath for one. “HBO has those moments. I have those moments. But it’s doubtful that there would be a spinoff. Actually, one time we talked about it—and I didn’t know if it was serious—I thought there could be a good sitcom of Janice and Bobby Bacala. What’s also occurred to me is a prequel with Tony. But the problem is that Jim Gandolfini is such a genius, frankly, that it would be a real challenge to find someone who would be believable as a young Tony.” So how about a movie? “A movie still exists as a possibility, I suppose. But it becomes less and less of a possibility because of technical challenges. I mean, where would you come in on the story? Let’s suppose, at the end of this, there are characters who don’t make it. How would you do the movie without them?” The Sopranos returns to HBO on April 8.
Source

The thing that intrigues me is that it is from the March 2007 issue of the magazine. I know that there were talks of a Sopranos movie a while ago, but I thought that David Chase basically was making this final season his “movie”.

I am really excited to hear that a movie is still a possibility and that even a spinoff is possible. I would definitely tune into The Young Tony Soprano Chronicles. I have to agree though, it would take a special actor to be able to do what James Gandolfini has done with Tony. When you watch the first season compared to the last season it’s amazing how he grew into that character. Whoever picked up that [young Tony] role would be constantly compared to Gandolfini.
