My Crazy Roommate
I just came across this website called My Crazy Roommate and it is GOLDEN.
The guy is clearly not making it up, it’s just too funny to be fake. Even if it is fake, it’s still golden. His name is Matt I believe, and I think he lives LA. Could be Wily though, cause thats the author name on the posts. I don’t know, I’ll call him Matt. He has a roommate who’s name starts with P, so for privacy, Matt calls him P. Since P moved in with Matt in January there have been hundreds of crazy interactions between them and Matt has posted a dozens of them online for our enjoyment.
If you get a chance, take 20 minutes and read them from the start. They are in chronological order and some won’t make sense if you don’t read the first ones. I specifically enjoyed his bike story.
The Bike Incident
Me: What hapanned to you?
P: I fell down the stairs.
Me: We don’t have stairs.
P: I fell down the stair in front.
Me: You look like you were hit by a bus. The “stair” out front is a 3 inch step.
P: I had hot dogs in my hand.
Me: What?
P: I tripped on my shoe and saved the hot dogs.
Me: Who does that? Now, if this was anyone else in the world, I would’ve called bullsh*t right there. P being P though, “I tripped over my shadow” was believable….
The Next Day….
Person 1:
J: What happaned to you?
P: I crashed M’s bike.Person 2:
S: What did you do to your hand?
P: I crashed M’s bike.Brilliant liar this P….About 20 people later…..
P: So, ummmm……There’s something wrong with your bike.
Me: Yeah, I know, it fell down a stair.
P: Yeah, so, thats fine, right?
Me: Nope. You took it without asking, crashed it, then lied about it. You buy it or fix it.
P: It’s not my fault! I didnt’ mean to crash.
Me: You’re retarded. You have a week.
P: Nooo! The important thing is that I’m o.k.
Me: No, it’s not. The important thing is that you owe me money or a fixed bike or your homeless.
P: I’ll fix it, I’ll fix it.
Me: I know, and you’ll buy a lock for it too. I’ve been having problems with people taking it and crashing it.Not always fun and games when dealing with a crazy person.
Like I said, read them from the start. They just keep getting better from #1 on.
Dexter Trailer
I just posted 2 days ago about this wicked show I found on Showtime called Dexter. Well here is the trailer for season one. I’m pretty stoked about this show.
WOW – Let SAW IV Get Out the Gate Before Signing on for SAW V and VI

Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that they have multiple sources confirming David Hackl the production designer and second unit director from SAW II, III, and IV has officially been signed on to direct SAW V and VI.
Apparently SAW is a goldmine and they don’t seeing it running out of steam any time soon. I say wait and see what the response is from SAW IV before you go making any plans. I am all for multiple sequel horror franchises, but I’m not going to buy into any recycled crap.
Actually, I’m surprised that they aren’t talking SAW Remakes or prequels by now. Oh well, looks like we can look forward to three more years of SAW at Halloween.
Terror Feed
My girlfriend turned me onto this sweet horror video site called TerrorFeed. It has lots of original clips from horror movies old and new from mainstream to cult. Not much more to say about it, go and get your horror fix.
Dexter Season 1 DVD Released August 31st
When I was browsing horror movies on Amazon.com yesterday I came across this Showtime series called Dexter (Dexter – The First Season). I only read a few lines from it, but basically what I got was it was a series along the same lines as American Psycho
. A guy living in society who just isn’t the same as everyone else. He fits in, but it’s all a fake — he is actually a serial killer. So on a whim I decided to download the first episode to see what it was all about before I bought the first season (to be released August 31st).
WOW. This is an awesome show. I’m all about it. Dexter Morgan is actually a forensic detective for the Miami PD specializing in blood splatter analysis. The show takes the same narrative format as American Psycho, but it is a little less… psycho. I feel like I can relate to Dexter in some things he says, I cant relate to Patrick Bateman at all. Dexter just seems more human.
So here is a quick rundown: Dexter is your every day forensic scientist who just happens to [secretly] pick up cold homicide cases in his spare time. He tracks down the lead suspect, confirms their guilt, and then murders them in his own serial killer fashion. He likes to keep a glass slide with a blood sample of all of his victims. Along side all of this we get to see how Dexter interacts in his personal life with his foster sister, his personal life with his girlfriend, and his professional life with his coworkers. There are a few flashbacks to show how he came to be the person that he is. Well actually, we learn that he has always been this way, but we find out his father had a huge role in his development.
Needless to say I’m super excited about this show. The DVD box set of season one comes out August 31st, so I am going to put my preorder in at amazon.com a week or so before it is released. I’m happy to see that Showtime will be airing season two starting on September 30th, but I’m not sure how I will watch it. Showtime offers their shows on a bunch of different download services, but I dont know if I would want to obtain the whole series that way. I see Movie Central is airing it, but then I would have to order movie central, and they might have a later start date.
Dexter Morgan:
People fake a lot of human interactions, but I feel like I fake them all, and I fake them very well, that’s my burden, I guess.
Eight More Films to Die For
See what happens when I don’t write very much on this blog? I go on a rampage and post 50 things at once.
Here is another one for ya. The After Dark Horrorfest 2006 was so successful they are doing it all over again this year! What is exciting is the promo video says they are going global! Oh God, please come to Calgary.
There isn’t a whole lot of information on the website yet but here is what I do know:
- It will be November 9th through 11th 2007
- All Access passes go on sale in September 2007
- 35 US cities are confirmed, but the promo video says they are going global, so that gives me hope it will be in Canada as well
- There will be 8 new films to die for from After Dark and Lions Gate
- There is a YouTube contest starting July 1st to become Miss Horrorfest 2007
- There is also a screenwriting competition. Submit your screenplay to win a deal with After Dark and Lions Gate
- There is a film making contest. Make a horror short and upload it to YouTube. The winners will have their videos showcased on the Horrorfest website and the grand winner will have theirs show in theaters during the Horrorfest.
Details are pretty scarce at this point. I can’t find any details on which cities are confirmed for 2007 or exactly how to enter any of the three contests. There aren’t really any details on the YouTube channel or on the MySpace page.
I’ll keep an eye on this though and post any more news I find.
After Dark Horror Fest: Eight Films to Die For DVD Box Set

Ok, so finding the Masters of Horror: Season One Box Set on Amazon got me looking at their horror dvd catalog and now I have come across another set, the After Dark Horror Fest
Box Set. I posted about the After Dark “Film Fest” back in November. To recap this was a 3 night event in theaters all over the US (wah, no Canada dates) where they played 8 “unreleased” horror movies. They claimed these movies would only be available in the theatres and not on DVD, but I gues they were liars.
Anyway, they have been out on DVD for a while now but I have only seen them individually in the movie rental stores. Well Amazon has the box set of all 8 movies available.
The movies all look really good from the trailers and I really was sad I wasn’t able to go to them in the theater, but I am adding this box set to my Amazon wish list. Hopefully I can pick it up in the next month or two so I can get caught up.
Here is the promo video from YouTube if you missed it:
Masters of Horror Season 1 Box Set Released
When Showtime’s Masters of Horror was first released on DVD they released all of the episodes as individual DVDs that usually came in a 2 pack. So for the price of $20 – $30 you would get two one-hourish episodes. This really disappointed me for two reasons. First off, I wanted to buy them, but didn’t want to spend $200 to get all of the episodes, and second I knew eventually they would release a box set and I would be stuck with all individual DVDs.
Well, my lucky day has arrived. They have released the Masters of Horror: Season One Box Set.
Masters of Horror is a Showtime TV series that takes classic horror writer/directors and puts them behind the camera for a 1 hour episode. Each episode is an individual story and is basically a mini-movie.
Some of my favorite episodes from season one include Incident On and Off a Mountain Road, Dreams in the Witch House, and Jenifer. I highly recommend this series for anyone who loves horror. Even if you dont love horror I suggest you give it a chance because it is some really entertaining television.
Here is the synopsis from the episode Incident On and Off a Mountain Road
Based on Joe Lansdale’s short story of the same title, this episode pits Ellen (Bree Turner), a seemingly defenseless young woman, against Moonface, a deformed and demented serial killer. As the story cuts back and forth in time, we slowly discover that our heroine is not as helpless, nor as innocent as she initially seems. Trained by her abusive husband Bruce (Ethan Embry) to be a survivalist, instructed to use any and every available object as a weapon in a time of need, Ellen gets to test the real life application of these lessons. Ultimately, chained to the floor of Moonface’s horrific cabin with a most unsavory roommate (Angus Scrimm), she races against the clock to free herself before she meets a grisly fate. This gritty episode pits a strong female protagonist against evil incarnate.
Season two has also been aired and released on individual DVDs like season one originally was. I’ll wait for the box set for those episodes as well. Season two has some really good stories as well.
Best Sopranos Video EVAR.
I laughed my ass off when I watched this. It is seriously soo golden. Have you ever seen The Sopranos on A&E? It is basically this:
PS, Will Sasso does the best Tony Soprano impersonation I have ever seen.
