See no Evil to be worst horror of 2006…
Browsing the Lionsgate Films website yesterday I stumbled upon this movie See No Evil and I’m pretty sure its going to be bad. First off its a WWE films production. Yes that’s right, I said it, World Wrestling Entertainment. The movie stars Kane the wrestler as some kind of crazy dude…
Here’s a plot snip I got from upcominghorrormovies.com
“Seven feet tall. Four hundred pounds. With a rusty steel plate screwed into his skull and razor-sharp fingernails that pluck out his victims’ eyes. Reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight is holed up in the long-abandoned Blackwell Hotel, alone with his nightmares until eight petty criminals show up for community service duty…along with the cop who put a bullet in Jacob’s head four years ago.”
Yeah, sounds like a real winner to me. I can’t see this movie getting much of a viewing aside from all of the Kane crazy WWE fans. Which there seem to be a few of as the movie forum on the official site is filled with random Kane praise.
Here’s a little example posted by thegoodnightman on the forum.
“kane is the greatest wrestler EVER!!!
and this movie will be the best horror film ever kane was born to play a movie monster
for years michael myers has been my fave movie maniac but i know that once i have seen ‘see no evil’ kanes character (is he still called lester? as it says on imdb)
will be the greatest of all.so to all u losers who diss kane **** YOU !!!!!”
I am pretty sure I will do my best to avoid this one. However every once and a while I have the urge to watch bad movies just so I have a basis for dissing them… and kane.
After digging a little bit deeper into the forums I found this brilliant post.
“Upon viewing the trailer for “See No Evil”, I have already set aside the $7 to see this on the day of release.
I have also set aside another $7 so I will have company in the theatre while sitting in for the first showing.
I hope that I will be able to get to an early showing as it is destined to only be there for a limited time.I look forward to seeing this as it seems to follow in the same vein as “House of the Dead” and “Alone in the Dark”, both of which were masterpieces of our time.
Kane’s acting ability will no doubt shine as brightly as Hulk Hogan’s did in “Santa With Muscles” and “3 Ninjas: High Noon At Mega Mountain”.
The trailer was a masterwork of originality and will be full of intrigue and suspense as the main characters have already established the main questions that need to be answered: “Hello?”, “What’s going on?” and “What do you want?”.
Along with it’s other new release “John Cena’s The Marine”, WWE Films will undoubtedly take Hollywood by storm.
This film will be a must see for all connoisseurs of the horror genre and will secure it’s rightful place next to such classics as “Wrong Turn”, “The Fog (2005)”, and “Cabin Fever”"
I agree with everything he says but disagree with his cabin fever comment. Many people disliked the movie but I liked it. It was funny at the same time as freakishly disturbing. Also, it had the guy from boy meets world, not Fred Savage’s brother, the other guy.
